Validate a Policy with Check Policy

  • Click 'Configure' > 'Policy' > 'Check Policy' to open this menu.

'Check Policy' is a dropdown in the header of the 'Policies' block, marked with an external-link icon. It holds three test links, one per rule type, that let you confirm a policy is actually taking effect.

You open the menu and click the link for the rule type you want to test.

The menu's own on-screen text reads 'In order to validate the policy set is working properly, please click above links per rule type.'

Menu items

Item Opens
Check Security Rule http://security.test.cdome.net
Check Category Rule http://category.test.cdome.net
Check Blacklist Rule http://blacklist.test.cdome.net

Each item opens its test domain in a new browser tab. If the matching rule is working, the test domain is blocked and your block page is shown in place of the site.

Test a policy

  1. Click 'Configure' > 'Policy'.

  2. Click 'Check Policy' in the header of the 'Policies' block.

  3. Click the item for the rule type you want to test.

  4. Read the new browser tab. A block page means the rule is being enforced.

See 'Manage Block Pages' for the page a blocked user sees.
